CMK delegates at the event dedicated to the Day of Remembrance and Sorrow

Every year on June 22 our country recalls the tragic events of the beginning of the Great Patriotic War. It is in honor of those horrible minutes that Russia holds numerous memorial events. Stupino metallurgists traditionally take an active part in such solemn events.

On the eve of the Day of Remembrance and Sorrow, a ceremony of laying flowers at the Eternal Flame was held in the square named after the Hero of the Soviet Union Vladimir Polyakov.

The head of the Stupino urban district, secretary of the local branch of the United Russia Party, Sergei Muzhalskikh, honored the memory of the perished heroes.

- Dear veterans, home front workers, respected residents and guests of the district. June 22 is the Day of Remembrance and Sorrow - the day that will forever remain in our hearts as a reminder of the terrible events that took place in our country 84 years ago, - said Sergei Muzhalskikh. – In this year dedicated to the Defender of the Fatherland, we remember our heroes by name, their unparalleled courage and heroism. A deep bow to all who fought fascism and restored the country from ruins.

The memorial event was attended by more than 200 people: representatives of the district administration, the deputy corps, the public chamber, enterprises and organizations, the deanery, veterans, military personnel, members of the Association of Veterans of the SVO, participants in the special operation, pupils of military-patriotic associations, volunteers, activists of United Russia and local residents.

The residents of Stupino paid tribute to the memory and respect of the fallen heroes and victims of the war with a minute of silence and gun salvos. At the end of the memorial event, those gathered laid flowers at the Eternal Flame and the memorials.

Representatives of the city-forming enterprise, headed by CMK managing director, Alexander Zavrazhnov, traditionally laid flowers and wreaths at the memorial "Grieving Mother", becoming part of a large-scale ritual. This event became a bright symbol of patriotism and solidarity of the district residents, expressing their respect for the heroes who died for the freedom of our Motherland. This tradition unites different generations of Russians, reminds everyone of the significance of the historical past and fosters a sense of pride for the Country.

Over 15 thousand residents of the district defended their homeland at the front. Twelve thousand fellow countrymen did not return from the battlefields. Women, the elder people and children worked in production, providing the front with everything necessary. Thanks to the labor and military feat of Stupino people, by decree of the President of Russia, Stupino was awarded the high honorary title of "City of Labor Valor".
