Monument restoration is a duty to the past and the future
On the Eve of the celebration of the 80th Anniversary of the Great Victory, the staff of the city-forming enterprise contributed to preserving the memory of the city's past. The workers of the repair and construction shop renovated monuments in the city.
In the last decade of April the workers of shop No. 960 repaired the monuments erected in the city in honor of the achievements of Stupino metallurgists: monuments to rolling millers, pressmen, foundry workers, aircraft builders and creators of the first satellite of the Earth.
"The repair crew securely fixed the commemorative plaques, replaced them at some sites, and carried out cosmetic repairs of the monuments. The work involved a team of six people and a truck tower,” says Vyacheslav Kanyakhin, Head of Repair and Construction Shop No. 960.
Not just a job
The cosmetic repairs were carried out with high quality and in a short time. Such work is of great importance for the city, because monuments are symbols of our history, and by keeping them in good condition, we show respect for the past and preserve the connection of times.
- Monuments, the repair of which was entrusted to us, appeared in the city in honor of the achievements of Stupino metallurgists. This is the memory of those who built the city and established its glory. Therefore, for us it is not just a job, but an opportunity to contribute to the preservation of the memory of those who invested in the development of metallurgy, and a duty to future generations who should know and remember their history, - summarized Vyacheslav Kanyakhin.
Stupino is among the cities with the largest number of techno-monuments. Not only that, the forging hammer installed on the Metallurgists' Square in honor of the city's 60th anniversary opened the top-12 of the most unusual techno-monuments in Russia. The rating was compiled and published by the magazine “Russian Tourism”. According to the publication, this monument is unique because it is not a moulage, but a real machine, once used in the forging shop of CMK. It was in this shop in the middle of the last century where the shell of the first artificial Earth satellite was forged. Let's recall: last year after CMK veterans appealed to Igor Pomazunov, the deputy of the District Council of Deputies, the hammer was restored. The workers primed the surface and applied bronze paint. In addition, the pedestal and commemorative plaque were repaired.
