Remembrance and Mourning Day

On June 22 the delegation of Stupino metallurgists took part in the memorial event dedicated to the 80th anniversary of Remembrance and Mourning Day; that is the day when the Great Patriotic War began. The war which divided the life of Soviet people into two parts: before and after. All of a sudden all people in the country were overtaken by the horrors of wartime: loss of relatives, starvation, occupation, daily hours-long work for providing the front with all necessary things. This terrible, bloody, giving no quarter to anybody War lasted 1418 days.
The Head of the urban district Sergey Muzhalyskih, the Chairman of Deputies District Council and the secretary of United Russia party branch Pavel Chelpan, Deputy Head of Administration Julia Kalinina, and the archpriest of Stupino District churches Evgeniy Ryapolov, representatives of labour collectives, public organizations, forces, veterans, young guards, and deputy corps attended a meeting in Stupino public garden named after the Hero of the Soviet Union V. F. Polyakov.
The flowers were put at the memorials of the public garden after a minute’s silence and gun salute.
Today we revere the memory of every soldier, veteran, homefront worker, and prisoner of concentration camps. We will remember the heroes of The Great Patriotic War and the trials they were put on.
