In March 2014 CMK will start the hot tests of the new equipment.
At the casting and melting area of CMK JSC Facility the installation works are finalized and preparation for the hot tests of the new furnaces melting the heat-resistant nickel-based alloy bulky ingots is started. The area structure incorporates three furnaces manufactured by ALD Vacuum Technologies, the manufacturer from Germany, such as vacuum induction furnace, vacuum arc furnace, and electroslag remelting furnace.
The hot tests are scheduled for the early March 2014. The casting facility commissioning will enable the production output to be doubled and the list of the manufactured heat-resistant and nickel-based alloy products to be diversified, quality of the finished products to be increased, product and production as per international standards to be certified, and the customers portfolio to be expanded.
The Casting-and-Melting Facility upgrading is the part of the large-scale program of CMK production development the mission of which is the entry to the Western market with the high-tech products for the top aircraft and engine manufacturers in the world.
CMK Development Investment Program was approved in 2010 and scheduled to be completed by the end of 2014. It also stipulates the profound upgrading of the Forging-and-Pressing Facility, installation of the new granule metallurgy line, and retrofit of the test center, and others.
