Resilient And Courageous

The main event of February 1989 was the withdrawal of the limited contingent of Soviet troops from Afghanistan. It was the long-awaited end of a 10-year war that had caused every Soviet person to know that Kabul, Herat, Shindand, Pul-i-Khumri and Kandahar were not just Afghan cities, but the scorcher of a terrible debilitating 10-year war.

Following the soldiers who had fought on Afghan land, soldiers in Chechnya, the North Caucasus, Abkhazia, Syria and Nagorno-Karabakh performed their combat duty outside the Russian state. Therefore, the anniversary of the withdrawal of troops from Afghanistan has ever since become the day of the Internationalist Warrior who performs his duty outside Russia.

Every year CMK honors its employees who have participated in international armed conflicts. These are people who have trod the hot paths of Kandahar, fought in Chechnya, defended the independence of Nagorno-Karabakh and participated in the military operations in Makhachkala...
