The Quality is Under Control!

October 1 marked the 10th anniversary of the establishment of the production and materials quality control section No. 500. A gala night dedicated to the festive anniversary was held at the Metallurg Palace of Culture. Section workers and veterans received congratulations from the management of CMK and Stupino artists, who prepared a bright artistic performance.
Work section No. 500 was established on 1 October 2012 as part of the quality control bureau, which is part of the production work section. But the labor pathway of the quality control service originated well ahead, in the early 40s, when the first aluminum alloy ingots were smelted and rolled.
Eight decades of evolvement, development, accumulated invaluable experience and improvement. With the organization and launch of new production work sections at the plant, the bureaus of quality control of products and materials were organized and deployed into their composition. Throughout the mastering of the technology of manufacturing products made from heat-resistant nickel, titanium alloys and special steels, operations, techniques and methods of production control and processes were mastered. This time is associated with such legends as Ivan Antonovich Lutenko, Fedor Stepanovich Lachugin, Vladimir Isidorovich Medovar, Vladimir Timofeevich Svetlov, Vasily Gavrilovich and Alexei Gavrilovich Murashov’s, Boris Alexandrovich Klimov.
The Stupino metallurgists worked unceasingly during the Great Patriotic War under the motto: “Everything for the front! Everything for victory Each product produced for the front was subjected to careful control by the workers of the Quality Control Department. During the war years, the staff of the metallurgical plant 11 times became the winner of the competitions among the aviation industry enterprises; 7 times it received the Red Challenge Banner of the State Defense Committee. This is also a considerable service of the employees of the quality control service.
The 70-s became a benchmark for the entire metallurgical industry of the country, it was then that the integrated system of work and production quality control was developed and implemented, which was initiated by the chief controller Vladimir Isidorovich Medovar. 23 products of the plant were awarded the State Quality Mark, more than 200 products were manufactured with a quality certificate of the plant.
Without a doubt, the section history of labor achievements is always made by people who are talented and dedicated, whose conscientious and responsible work is an unconditional example for the younger generation of specialists, people whose knowledge, professional experience and great professional skills are a real life school – Tatyana Anatolyevna Antonova, Lyubov Nikolaevna Konovalova, Galina Nikolaevna Shkolnaya, Antonina Afanasievna Kunova and Nadezhda Mikhailovna Kultina.
At present, the team of the production and materials quality control section, incorporating 9 divisions, is managed by a professional head with solid experience –Irina Anatolyevna Shchukareva. Work section 500 specialists control production processes and product quality over 8 production departments: foundry and smelting section of special alloys, foundry and smelting production of large-sized ingots, smelting production of titanium alloys, forge and press section, forge section, production of non-ferrous metal powders section, section of thermomechanical processing and delivery of products from special alloys. Work section 500 specialists perform incoming quality control of all melting stock arriving to the enterprise, used for the manufacture of products, rolled section and accessory materials.
The products of CMK undergo all types of control checks set forth in the regulations. The quality of products for Stupino Metallurgical Company remains the priority principle of its business strategy.
