Glory to the Defenders!

On February 22, on the eve of Defender of the Fatherland Day, a solemn meeting was held in the park named after the Hero of the Soviet Union Vladimir Fomich Polyakov. It was attended by the personnel of the military units located on the territory of the district, pupils of patriotic associations, representatives of enterprises, residents of the city. CMK was represented by a delegation headed by S.A. Kononov — Deputy General Director - Director for Technical Development.

– “Stupino was and remains an industrial city. During the Great Patriotic War, our residents heroically worked in the rear. This feat was duly appreciated, so Stupino was awarded the high honorary title "City of Labor Valor". With special gratitude, we remember those who defended us during the Great Patriotic War, we bow our heads before the heroes who gave their lives for the Fatherland, we thank our dear veterans for their valor and courage. The unprecedented feat of our fathers, grandfathers and great-grandfathers knows no equal, and will always remind us of the great cost of the Great Victory. Today we honor the soldiers and officers who valiantly serve, the soldiers in reserve, all those who defended and are defending the Motherland from external threats, and those who have yet to do this. I wish the military servicemen of the Russian Federation, veterans of the Armed Forces and all defenders of health, peace, kindness and good spirits” — said Sergei Gennadievich Muzhalskikh, Head of the Stupino City District.

Deputy of the Moscow Regional Duma Andrei Golubev and Chairman of the District Council of Deputies Alexander Sukhachev also addressed to the participants With words of gratitude to the defenders of the Motherland.

The event ended with a moment of silence and laying of flowers at the Eternal Flame and the park's monuments.

The delegation of the Stupino Metallurgical Company, according to tradition, laid a basket of flowers at the memorial "Book of Memory", located on the Pobedy Boulevard. The CMK representatives honored the memory of the metallurgists, whose names are forever inscribed in the book of memory.
